Sand Management and Control

Sand Management and Control is one of the main issues that industry is facing in the production of oil/gas deposits. When oil is produced from relatively weak reservoir rocks, small particles and sand grains are dislodged and carried along with the flow. This sand production can create erosion in flowlines and other equipment. Fracrock carries out a detailed technical evaluation to determine what the best sand management solution applicable is.

Fracrock will evaluate several factors such as levels of expected sand production, geographical location, geometry and dimensions of existing pipe work, new technologies, access restrictions to facilities, fluid phases, well potential, jetting and sand cleaning possibilities, corrosion and pigging aspects may all dictate the approach for active sand control and management and the optimal solutions.

Sand Management Strategies

Sand management involves identifying sand production risk to determine if, how, and when sand-control or sand-prevention techniques should be applied.

Fracrock applies techniques/strategies to minimize or delay sand production, and does so by optimizing perforating practices rather than applying mechanical methods. Fracrock uses these strategies and control methods to exclude sand from produced fluids. When sand production risk is acceptably low, prevention techniques is used and when this risk is unacceptably high, sand control methods is used. Both for subsurface and surface challenges Fracrock uses the sand control measure/strategy that will be best to proffer solutions.

Installation & Commissioning

Fracrock offers end to end installation, commissioning and well testing services with reference to the ClampOn Particle Monitor, Pig Detector and CEM. We have experienced personnel and have developed a robust QA/QC support structure which means that our clients always receive the best quality of Service.

Desanding/Sand Removal

Fracrock’s Desander offers a proven, compact, simple, cost reduced alternative to current techniques and allows higher sand free production rates while eliminating downhole sand control measures. The installation of the FSL Desander will enhance production by increasing production rates and reducing downtime. The well-engineered design promotes installation of the FSL Desander on almost any oil or gas well. Virtually all particulate debris such as formation sand, fracture (frac.) sand, drilling chips, chalk, and scale, can be removed from production wells on-line.

Training & Consultancy

To achieve the best value for permanently installed ClampOn system it is important that your personnel are properly trained. FSL offers training that will help your team to properly maintain their installations, system configuration and data analysis.
We also have personnel that can work as part of your team for longer periods of time – this in turn helps to facilitate field training in a “Live” environment.

Flow Assurance and Instrumentation

Flow assurance is another term for multiphase transport, which covers the transmission of oil, gas and water in the same pipeline from the reservoir to final processing. Fracrock’s Flow assurance, focuses on the whole engineering and production life cycle from the reservoir through refining, to ensure with high confidence that the reservoir fluids can be moved from the reservoir to the refinery smoothly and without interruption.

Fracrock offers an extensive range of commercial, industrial and technical procurement and supply services. We provide industrial machinery equipment, oil drilling and production supplies, industrial electrical & electronic systems, laboratory equipment, office stationaries, personal protection equipment, specialty items, spare parts, as well as manufacturing and operating consumables for the industries that we service. Included in these services are comprehensive support logistics, delivery, installation and training solutions.

Our Procurement team has extensive experience in managing and performing procurement activities for large EPIC contracts. Our partnerships in the areas of Technical Procurement, Engineering & Maintenance Service Agreements with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) allows for speedy implementation of service contract.

We currently have agreements with foreign and local Partners in the supply of products and services in which we are the exclusive agents to the manufacturers. We also have many International Joint Venture (IJV) and Mutual Beneficial partnership with interest in large EPIC procurement contracts.

Fracrock Solutions Limited provides project planning and programming of drilling, completions & work-over activities and technical resources across the entire well services lifecycle including well design, well planning, well performance monitoring, well intervention, well testing, mud logging, MWD / LWD, flow assurance, wire-line services, life of well integrity and well-site operation. Fracrock works with oil & gas operators, oilfield service providers and specialist technical well services providers.

Fracrock Solutions Limited provides capabilities in two critical phases for initial development wells. For wells where more data is needed to define the reservoir characteristics, or to better define the produced fluids to establish design parameters for production facilities, FRACROCK SOLUTIONS LTD can apply traditional well testing equipment for an extended well test.

The ability to implement your process facility needs begins by creating a true partnership with you from the beginning. During the initial FEED (front-end engineering and design) stage, FRACROCK SOLUTIONS LTD focuses on the design requirements. From the initial requirements, FRACROCK SOLUTIONS LTD offers the ability to “fast-track” facilities specially designed to meet requirements or provide facilities around standard process modules for well control, separation, fluid conditioning, and disposal.

Our Solutions

Fracrock Solutions Limited offers a wide range of products for both Topside and Subsea Environments. These products are designed to assist our clients with a wide range of asset integrity issues from particle monitoring, corrosion erosion monitoring to leak and pig detection.

The Ultrasonic Intelligent sensors – sand detector, PIG detector, vibration monitor, well collision detector, corrosion-erosion monitor, and leak monitor are based on the same, well proven technology platform. Both the topside and the subsea instruments incorporate Digital Signal Processing (DSP), complete digitalization eliminating analogue filters, circuits, and amplifiers. There are two basic sensor models: one for topside applications and one for subsea applications. Depending on the application, additional hardware modules like active ultrasonic (for condition monitoring / erosion and corrosion monitoring), accelerometers (for vibration analysis), or temperature meters, etc. can be built in.
